Startup Market Access Readiness

Only 41% of startups reach a strong validation level
Peak Spirit examined 46 HealthTech startups across Europe, with a focus on the DACH region, to assess how ready they are for market access. The report finds a clear gap between how strategically important founders say market validation is, and how much they actually invest in it — only 41% reached a “good” or “very good” validation level.
Startups commonly under-research reimbursement pathways, clinical workflows, and legal frameworks, creating a mismatch between the technology they build and what the market actually needs. The report covers seven areas, from common validation shortcomings to country-specific differences across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, and its impact on fundraising success.
